Mulled Wine Syrup

This was the first time that I've used an actual vanilla bean. And. It. Was. Gooooood. Seriously, this stuff? If you like sweet things and vanilla and Glühwein – you cannot not make this!

Ingredients (makes 250ml):

  • 1/2  vanilla bean

  • 650 ml Glühwein

  • 100 ml orange juice

  • 250 g sugar

Scrape out the vanilla bean and put the seeds as well as the shell into a saucepan along with the rest of the ingredients. Bring to the boil and then keep it at high heat, occasionally stirring, for about 45 min until it has reduced and thickened a bit.
